In our recent Boston trip, I decided to treat Tommy to a Birthday dinner at Smith & Wollensky, a fancy franchise whose aesthetic makes you feel like you are in a vintage 1950s classy club. If you know me, you know I live for all things vintage.
While making my reservation, I stated we were celebrating a birthday, and long and behold, the hostess was kind enough to place us in a private area.

We had the most delightful waitress, who intrigued us into purchasing a bottle of fine champagne, with crab cakes of course, and a seafood tower.
Here’s something you need to know about Tommy, and something that will probably be posted several times in this blog…. Tommy loves crab cakes. No matter where we go, or where we are, we will defiantly purchase crab cakes if it’s on the menu.
Of course, the crab cake was delicious, and we especially loved the cream sauce on top with a squeeze of lemon. 🍋
Additionally, we ordered the seafood tower, which is what I always order no matter where we are (well, not wherever 🫣). The jumbo shrimp, marinated octopus, crab meat, and my ultimate favorite, oysters!

Oysters have multiple vitamins, like Vitamin D, Zinc (which is great for eye lash growth) and of course, makes you… happy 😉. Perfect little snack on date night.

And we can’t forget the delectable bread that Smith & Wollensky offers. It’s the perfect mix of sweet and salty, and the butter 🧈😜. Now who doesn’t like butter?

Dinner however, was even more amazing. We shared a surf and turf, with filet mignon wrapped in smoked bacon. With a side of creaming Mac and cheese.

Lastly, we had to end the meal with an apple tart, which was one of the best desserts I have even in years. The tartness of the apples with the sweetness of the ice cream and the warmth of the tart mixing everything together into a melt in your mouth bite ?! I only wish I lived in Boston so I can have this more often!
Of course we had to pair with a espresso martini (Sobieski Vodka, Sobieski Vanilla Vodka, Caffé Borghetti Espresso Liqueur, The Irishman Irish Cream, fresh espresso) and Mexican Coffee (Kahlua, cayenne simple syrup, whipped cream). Yes, you read that correctly, with cayenne, and I must say that Tommy and I have tried it remaking it at home and it’s still delicious.

To conclude, I think Tommy’s Birthday dinner in Smith & Wollensky Boston was a success🤍
I was overjoyed with the kindness of the staff, the good ingredients of the foods, and the memories we made. Tommy is not one to enjoy attention or any birthday celebrations, but he will never say no to a good meal 👍🏻
